When the game first launched, I read about all those texture popping issues, and then there was issues with people with AMD GPUs not being able to play the game due to lack ( which IMO is caused by technonoobs that tried to max the game with a crappy HD5570 2GB ddr3) .
The former issue was OK and didn't hinder gameplay and was just annoying, mostly fixed with the 1st update, yet still occurs slightly in some areas, but the latter problem regarding AMD GPUs...Im a bit skeptical as I myself is a proud owner of a Radeon 6950 GPU and is currently playing the game at50fps++ with 8*MSAA.
Graphics are great, would look better if the colors are more intensive,
characters are ok, story ( so far) is meeting my expectations and gameplay elements are not bad, the only problem I have now is with it's annoying saving system that doesn't auto save or not allow you to save between 2 intervals in some areas/missions which is a bit annoying if you die.

Rage Review Pc

First off, unlike a majority of the reviewers i LOVED the game, and that brings me too i wish there was more game to be played.
The good
1. I run a 3.2g I5 /w an Nvidia GTS450, and i had no issues and this game was absolutely beautifal.
2. Loved the setting of the game, i wish we had an open world polished MMO that looked like this.
3. Story was ok, but short
4. Loved the gun play, i ran with 4 guns and 4 guns only, sniper rifle, combat shotgun, double barrel shotgun (anarchy edition) & the settlers pistol.
once you progress and get the 'pop rockets' for the Combat shotty, and the 'Fat Mommas' for the settlers pistol, no other ammo is needed. Nearly any enemy besides the 'mini' armored bosses can be killed in two shots or less, i had more one shot kills with the pistol, than the sniper rifle.
5. The buggies, the design was incredible.
6. I was very immersed in the game, to me it kept me wanting more, i would love to see a rage 2 but with all these whiners, i dont think we will.
7. The opp AI was awesome, unlike any other game.
The bad
1. The first bad thing i noticed was the horrible driving, dont expect anything close to any racing game.
2. The game was way to short, it needed about 16 hours of gameplay added to the 12 i drug my feet thru.
3. Hit detection, it seemed like certain boxes were taller than shown and that walls extended further than they looked to.
4. Vehicles, the combat was horrible, it seemed as if any rocket i shot, hardly went on course yet every one but a few that were shot at me, follwed me everywhere. They list cool customization, hardly, lulz. The parts aquiring was very lack luster, any race you win with the gold, is then non-replayable. The gun and rocket rallies are damn near unwinnable @ times.
5. Lack of real open world play. hell one of the achievements is 'ytiC daeD' for running the 'Dead City' in reverse lulz.
6. The 'Anarchy Edition' of the game is virtually pointless, hagar gives you a 4 wheeler @ the start, and shortly after, you aquire a starter buggy.
The Shotgun comes with very little ammo, making it worthless till you get a little cash, and i noticed that buckshot isnt even available right away, even tho u have the gun.
The Crimson elite suit, doesnt evn show up till u get to willowsprings
Most notably, the car and the suit dont come into play until the second city, usually you buy a 'special edition' to get those bonus's immediately, nope not in RAGE, they make you wait.
the fists of rage are a joke unless u run out of ammo, which can happen @ the start.
Overall, if you can get the game here like i did for $10, buy it! even with its drawbacks the game is still fun. The Anarchy Edition is pointless, dont pay any extra for this unless u really, really, really, want the virtual goods. (i only buy collectors, or special editions) The game itself is fun, the setting is awesome, take the $10 leap if you havent already. I know i am not the only person that Hates Steam with a passion, and this is the real only major drawback for me, and nowhere in the amazon description, does it say steam required. Did i mention I hate steam?
